Han Solo was moved around a lot before Leia discovered him at the beginning of Return of the Jedi. The hunt for Han Solo was a major part of this era, and Vess may play an integral role in helping the Rebels discover his location. This could simply be an Easter egg, or it could hint at Kay Vess' larger involvement with the Rebel Alliance. Star Wars Outlaws will be taking place during this turbulent time, and the brief reveal trailer had a shot of someone that looked like Han Solo frozen in Carbonite. While none of it has been seen on-screen, dozens of comic books have explored this period in great detail. Along with that, the galaxy is plunged even further into war with crime syndicates like Crimson Dawn taking up arms against the Empire. The Rebel fleet is able to reform, Luke trains with Yoda, and Leia is able to discover the location of Han Solo. Return of the Jedi picks up one year after The Empire Strikes Back, and a lot happened in that time. Han Solo was frozen in Carbonite, Luke failed to beat Darth Vader, and the remaining Rebels fled into the unknown. The Rebels were shattered, the heroes were split up, and things only got worse from there. This forced the Rebels to flee, Luke Skywalker to head to Dagobah, and pushed the galaxy further into war. After the Rebels destroyed the Death Star, the Galactic Empire responded by attacking their secret base on Hoth. The Empire Strikes Back saw the Rebel Alliance fall to its lowest point during the original trilogy. While the story will follow a Star Wars character disconnected from the Rebellion, the Rebel Alliance will likely play a role in the larger narrative. Star Wars Outlaws will be telling a brand-new story set between The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Not much is known about Star Wars Outlaws' story yet, but it will surely be filled with all the classic Star Wars goodness that fans of the franchise have come to expect. In it, players take on the role of thief Kay Vess in an adventure scouring the seedy underbelly of the galaxy. Ubisoft recently unveiled Star Wars Outlaws, and it looks like it could be exactly what fans want from an open-world Star Wars game.
